Probably my favorite thing in Holland was the Corrie ten Boom house. She is the author of The Hiding Place, an amazing book that talks about her experiences during WWII. For those who don't know, she and her family were strong Christians. They used their house as a temporary hiding place (before they went on to more permanent places) for Jews or anyone else who was trying to fight against the Nazi's. They saved 800 Jews' lives in the process!!
Unfortuntely, they were outed and Corrie, her older sister Betsy, and their father (who was in his 80's) were sent to a concentration camp. Only Corrie survived. She spent the rest of her life traveling around the world and preaching forgiveness. Wow.
It's hard to put into words how going to her house has changed me. I've been granted a different way to view the world and my relationship with my Savior. And I'm grateful.
