Just so I don't forget...

Sydney took her first steps on July 23rd. She was 13 months old. :)

No steady walking yet, but we are getting there!

Sydney's first birthday

ever since i took my cake decorating class, i wanted to make these lady bug cupcakes. i think that's probably where the theme of the party came from. :) the cake was made by my friend, Texas. isn't it amazing??

when we got to the cupcakes, Syd had already been up a couple of hours past her bedtime. that + the over stimulation that occurs with have 20+ people in the house = zoned out Sydney. 

i had been told to not get my hopes up that she would actually dig into the cake, but she totally did! in fact, she had two whole cupcakes!

my friend Julie taught me how to make tutu's, so i made the tutu and headband. her hair is super crazy because i kept trying to keep on the headband and let my sister-in-law Kristen take  the pics! oh well. she's still super cute.

Milestones

13-month-old-Sydney did two things the past couple of days:

-we were feeding her chicken nuggets in the car while driving to Spring. when she was finished with her first chicken nugget, she reached her hand up and said "mo" {more} instead of just squealing. :)

-today i asked her if she could give me a kiss. she nodded her head (which she has done a lot lately...sometimes in the right context and other times in place of shaking her head), said "yeah" and planted a big one on my cheek.

since i am a terribly mommy and have barely filled out her baby book, i have to record these things somewhere!
