recap of the past couple of weeks:

-i had my birthday last week. kirk made it extra special. i came home for lunch and had flowers, a candlelit sack lunch, and kirk waiting for me. he gave me my presents (two regina spektor cd's and some really dark chocolate) and then took me out to magelby's for dinner. i'm trying to do things that you can only do in utah, since this is our last semester here. then, we went to borders and perused the books. we were going to have hot chocolate but we were soo stuffed from magelby's. so we just went home. my parents even called me from sicily to wish my happy birthday. it was a great birthday!

-i need to take pictures of the adorable outfits raelene (my mother-in-law) bought for our little girl. she got some CUTE ones. she gave them to me the night after my birthday. she, norman, and grandma hill came down to provo and took kirk and i out to dinner. it was great to see grandma looking so good, and to see norman before he went back to nigeria.

-kirk took our furry children to the vet today to get their yearly shots. apparently our cat weights more than our dog! arwen is 7 pounds and simba is 8. we found out simba still has some baby teeth that might need to be pulled later. hopefully they'll just fall out...anyway, kirk said they did great. no biting the vet or anything. :) simba (who loves people) even ran up to the vet and was very happy to meet a new friend.

that's a quick update on the hills! my pregnancy is progressing nicely, as far as we know. i'm realizing i need to have much more fiber in my diet though. i have been suffering from a common pregnancy ailment. bleh.

Just make lots of steamed broccoli :) Yum! And if you think it's bad now, wait till AFTER the baby is here. hehe!

I'd like to know how *really* dark chocolate is different from just dark chocolate:) I prefer milk, myself. So fun to have girl clothes! I can't wait to spoil my neice!!! We are coming to Utah in March for Julie's wedding on the 20th (did I tell you she got engaged?) so we can play then!

Just a random, sort of gross hint...
when I had the same...er... pregnancy related issue, I talked to my doctor about a fiber supplement and he actually said that it is a common myth that fiber will help constipation. He says it actually makes your stools more bulky (which generally will help people feel them more, and then they will go more often, preventing constipation), but when you are pregnant, feeling them isn't the problem. He had me take a stool softener- colace- instead. They give the same thing to you after your baby is born, too. Anyway, just something you could ask your doc about. Good luck with the pregnancy!
